The Ambridge District Auxiliary celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2002 and was honored by the Ambridge Chamber of Commerce for the auxiliary’s 50 years of dedicated service. In addition to being active volunteers, the Ambridge Auxilians raise funds on behalf of Heritage Valley Sewickley through a variety of ways. Over the years, their contributions have helped to purchase much-needed hospital equipment and most recently funds have been dedicated to the renovation of the hospital’s education center and emergency department capital campaign. The auxiliary holds evening membership meetings three times a year at the United Methodist Church in Ambridge.
Moon Area Auxiliary

The Moon Area Auxiliary (or MASH as it is affectionately called) was formed in 1971. Auxiliary members volunteer and help to raise funds on behalf of Heritage Valley Sewickley. The auxiliary is currently supporting the emergency department capital campaign. Key fundraisers include plant sales and the annual Tree of Life. The Tree of Life is a project where ornaments are placed on holiday trees in honor of or in memory of individuals. The project celebrated its’ 10-year anniversary in 2002. In 2007, the ceremony which is the official start to the hospital’s holiday season; was held on December 4. The auxiliary holds four luncheon meetings a year at Robert Morris University in Moon Township.
The Auxiliary of Heritage Valley Sewickley

The Auxiliary of Heritage Valley Sewickley was formed in 1905, two years prior to the construction of the hospital. Since that time, almost two million dollars has been given to the hospital through efforts from the many gala's and one-of-a-kind fashion shows. In 2005, their 100th year, several events were held to honor their many contributions including a Century of Serving dinner dance and a children’s activity day. A commemorative cookbook, “A Century of Serving” was designed showcasing the history of the auxiliary and providing 250 recipes of hors d’oeuvres and desserts from auxilians and friends. In addition to special yearlong activities, the auxiliary held their annual “Unique Boutique” a specialty vendor shopping experience and luncheon on November 3rd at the Edgeworth Club. Funds from this event were earmarked for the hospital’s infant monitor system. The auxiliary holds luncheon membership meetings three times a year at the Edgeworth Club.
The Heritage Valley Sewickley Gift Shop (Phone: 412-749-7190) is located on the 3rd floor of the hospital. A joint venture among the three hospital auxiliaries, the gift shop provides the hospital with its net proceeds each year. Small food items, gifts and cards are available for purchase seven days per week. Volunteers, under the direction of a manager, support the daily activities.
Gift shop hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11 am - 4 pm. Purchases can also be made by credit card via the telephone.
