The Medical Center Auxiliary was formed in 1980, when The Medical Center, Beaver, was opened. The auxiliary currently includes more than 225 members, who volunteer in the following areas of the hospital:

Coffee shop, gift shop, critical care, family surgery waiting room, gift cart, pastoral calling, patient mail and others.

The auxiliary donates its revenues to the hospital from several fundraising sources, including the coffee shop, gift shop, baby picture program and gumball machines. Other fundraisers are the annual Holiday Ball; Bake, Book and Craft Sale; and Shoe Sale.

Every year, the auxiliary donates more than $100,000 to the hospital for needed equipment, necessary renovation and beautification projects. Currently, funds are being donated to benefit the redesign and renovation of the hospital’s Emergency Department. Since its inception, the auxiliary has donated more than $1.6 million to Heritage Valley Beaver.

New members are welcome to join the auxiliary. An annual fee of $5 and 50 hours of volunteer service per year are required for active members.
