--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The volunteer program at Heritage Valley Beaver provides an opportunity for persons, age 16 or older, to donate their time and skills in a meaningful, rewarding way. Volunteers assist the hospital in meeting community health care needs by supporting staff efforts. Volunteers do not take the place of paid staff. By becoming part of the health care team, volunteers also help to create and maintain in the community an understanding of Heritage Valley Beaver and its services.

To become a volunteer, you must meet certain entry requirements, such as:

• Completion of an application and personal interview
• Basic health clearance
• General and departmental orientation, including an emphasis on patient privacy and confidentiality

Volunteers are utilized in a number of areas throughout the hospital, including the coffee shop, escort, front desk, emergency department, clerical positions, pastoral care, physical and occupational therapy.
