Beaver, PA (March 4, 2008) –The Board of Directors of Heritage Valley Health System recently announced its new board leadership for 2008. The new leadership team, effective January 1, 2008 is comprised of: Laura Vassamillet of Bell Acres, Chair; Joe Becherer of Beaver, Vice Chair; A. Gary Chace of Sewickley, Treasurer; and Johannah Robb of Beaver, Secretary.

Laura Vassamillet (Chair) is a vice president with The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, Wealth Management Division. Previously, she has been a vice president with National City Bank Private Client Group and held various positions with PNC Bank. Prior to joining the Law Department at PNC Bank, Ms. Vassamillet was an attorney with the corporate finance group of Tucker Arensberg, P.C.

Ms. Vassamillet received her undergraduate degree from Smith College and her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations. Ms. Vassamillet is also a member of The Estate Planning Council of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Council. She has served on the Heritage Valley board since 2004.

Joe Becherer (Vice Chair) retired from the Eaton Corporation as a senior vice president and general manager of the Cutler Hammer business in 1997. Prior to Eaton, Mr. Becherer had been a vice president of Westinghouse Electric Corporation and general manager of the Distribution and Control Business Unit. He currently serves as a director and chairman of the compensation committee for Powell Industries, Inc. of Houston. He is a former member of IEEE and NEMA.

Mr. Becherer received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He has served on the Heritage Valley board since 2002.

A. Gary Chace (Treasurer) is retired from Mellon Bank where he served as senior vice president and manager of the Energy Services Group. Prior to joining Mellon in 1989, he was vice president and manager of the Public Utilities Banking Department at Irving Trust Company in New York City.

Mr. Chace received a B. S. in Business Administration from Bryant College and an MBA from Long Island University. He also completed a bank credit program at Dartmouth College. He has served on the Heritage Valley board since 2006.

Johannah Robb (Secretary) is Business Administrator for the Hopewell Area School District and has served in that capacity since 2003. Prior to serving in Hopewell, she was employed as the business manager for the Ambridge Area School District and for the Center Area School District.

Ms. Robb received a B.A. in French from Allegheny College and a B.S.B.A. in Accounting from Robert Morris University and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials. She is currently the treasurer of the Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development as well as the Beaver Area Memorial Library. She has served on the Heritage Valley board since 2006.
