Sewickley, PA (April 29, 2008) - Surgical Associates of Sewickley, part of Sewickley Valley Medical Group, is pleased to welcome Rajdeep Sandhu, M.D. to the practice as a vascular specialist. Dr. Sandhu’s expertise encompasses the complete range of vascular services from diagnostic to interventional, including endovascular and open operative alternatives.

Dr. Sandhu attended Duquesne University as an undergraduate. He subsequently graduated with a Doctorate of Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and completed his residency in general surgery at University of Nebraska Medical Center. He received additional training in Vascular Surgery at the University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University. He was then selected for a unique fellowship opportunity in Advanced Endovascular Interventions at Malmö Hospital, University of Lund in Sweden. As a Fellow at Malmö Hospital, Dr. Sandhu treated complex aortic pathology, such as abdominal and thoracic aneurysms and dissections, with new generation stent grafts.

As one of only 2,000 fellowship trained vascular surgeons in the country, Dr. Sandhu offers the comprehensive management of “peripheral vascular care.” Dr. Sandhu has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at a number of meetings on topics ranging from the management of thoracic aortic injury to the training of surgical residents.
