Dr. Mary Ann DiBiagio of Ellwood City, part of Tri-State Medical Group, is pleased to welcome Sharon Dawso, M.D. to the practice as a primary care physician.

Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Dawso graduated magna cum laude from Drew University in Madison, NJ where she majored in Biology with honors and minored in Biochemistry. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John’s, NL in Canada and completed her residency in Family Practice from Heritage Valley Health System.

Board certified by the American Board of Family Practice, Dr. Dawso became associate director of the Western Reserve Care System Family Practice Residency in Youngstown, OH in 2002. There she was recognized in 2005 as “Teacher of the Year.” Most recently, Dr. Dawso was at Family Medical Care of Lawrence County in New Wilmington, PA.

In addition to seeing patients at her office in Ellwood City, she has privileges and refers patients to both Heritage Valley Beaver and The Ellwood City Hospital. Dr. Dawso also remains an assistant professor at Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio where she has taught since 2002.

“I am very happy to return to Heritage Valley where I did my residency training. Dr. DiBiagio and I both see ‘family medicine’ as developing long-term relationships with our patients and really getting to know them. In addition to my focus on my patients, I have a passion for education and the practical application of science. On a personal note, I am delighted to be in Ellwood City where my parents and grandmother have lived since 2001.”
