Sewickley, PA (January 30, 2009) –The Board of Directors of Heritage Valley Health System recently announced their returning officers for 2009. They are: Laura Vassamillet – Chair, Joe Becherer – Vice-Chair, Johannah
Robb, CPA – Secretary, and Gary Chace – Treasurer.

In addition, the Board of Directors announced three new board members and one returning member. New members include Gwen Manto, Scott Elste and Dr. Allen Wolfert. Returning to the board is Garry Hogan.

Gwen Manto, relocated to Pittsburgh three years ago to become the Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer for Dick’s Sporting Goods. Manto has held executive positions with organizations such as Federated Department Stores, Inc., Stein Mart, Kids Foot Locker, and Toys ‘R’ Us. Gwen resides in Sewickley with her husband Steve.

Scott Elste is the General Manager and Treasurer of Keystone Manufacturing, Inc. in Rochester, a metal conveyor belt manufacturer, which was founded in 1894. Elste is also the president of the Sewickley Valley Hospital Foundation Board and has previously served on the Sewickley Academy Alumni Council and the Sewickley Valley YMCA Board of Directors. He graduated from Bucknell University. Scott is a resident of Sewickley where he lives with his wife Amy.

Garry Hogan is the senior vice president of Parker Hunter, a division of Janney Montgomery Scott. Prior to Janney Montgomery Scott, he previously worked at RBC Dain Rauscher and Advest. He graduated with a B.A. and Masters of Public Administration from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Garry previously served on two of Heritage Valley’s predecessor boards from 1982–1983 and again from 1989–1996, and served on the Heritage Valley Health System board from 1996–2007 where he was chairman from 1999–2001. He and his wife Kathy live in Center Township.

Allen Wolfert, M.D. practices nephrology with Teredesai, McCann & Associates, who has offices in Pittsburgh and Aliquippa. Dr. Wolfert is also the president of the medical staff at Heritage Valley Sewickley. He received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and his undergraduate degree from New York University. He resides in Sewickley with his wife Adrienne Young, M.D.
