(Sewickley, PA – March 2, 2009) – For the second time this year, Heritage Valley Health System has received a grant for $1M from the state of Pennsylvania. This latest award is a project grant from the Department of Public Welfare’s Acute Care Hospital appropriation designated for the Heritage Valley Sewickley Emergency Department Renovation project. The previous grant for $1,000,000 was from the State Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) to fund Heritage Valley’s Beaver campus building addition and renovation project.

“On behalf of our Board of Directors, medical staff and employees, we sincerely appreciate the efforts of Senator John Pippy and Representative Mark Mustio as well as Governor Rendell in obtaining this additional funding for Heritage Valley,” said Norm Mitry, President and CEO of Heritage Valley Health System. “This investment in the Emergency Department renovation project at Heritage Valley Sewickley, combined with the support of the community through our Capital Campaign, will allow us to continue to provide high quality emergency care in a new safe, clean and private environment.”
