Moon Township, PA, (February 10, 2011) – Heritage Valley Health System will hold a new premier fundraising event, An Evening with Marvin Hamlisch and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh. The event is presented by honorary event chairs Dick and Ginny Simmons and UPMC Health Plan. WTAE-TV’s Andrew Stockey will be the master of ceremonies for the event. Proceeds benefit the Heritage Valley Sewickley and Heritage Valley Beaver Foundations.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Dorothy Porter Simmons Regency Rooms at Heinz Hall with dinner stations from The Common Plea restaurant, a silent auction of distinctive items and a special private appearance from Marvin Hamlisch. The evening concludes with the 8:00 p.m. performance of Marvin: The Man & The Music, a concert which features Hamlisch’s award-winning music including hits from major motion pictures and musicals Ordinary People, Ice Castles, A Chorus Line, Sophie's Choice, The Way We Were and They're Playing Our Song.

Individuals can purchase tickets to the event for $150 per person for Orchestra seats and $125 per person for Family Circle seating. Corporate sponsorship opportunities are available. Additionally, a limited number of seats are available on busses leaving from Beaver and Sewickley, as well as, discounted rooms at the new Fairmont Pittsburgh Hotel.
