oon Township, PA, (April 27, 2012) – Heritage Valley Health System announced the promotion of John Luellen, MD, MPM as a vice president and chief quality officer for the health system. Dr. Luellen has been with Heritage Valley Health System since 1998 and served most recently as Medical Director, Satellite Services, which included clinical oversight of Heritage Valley’s ConvenientCare retail medicine strategy. He also served as Medical Director of Emergency Services for Heritage Valley Beaver for five years.
Dr. Luellen received his doctor of medicine degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and a master’s degree in Public Management, with a concentration in Health Systems Management, from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and a member of the American College of Physician Executives, Pennsylvania Medical Society, Allegheny County Medical Society, and serves on the National Board of Directors of the Convenient Care Association.

In his new role, Dr. Luellen will have additional administrative and operational responsibilities including patient safety, infection control, and the health system’s Six Sigma Process Improvement initiatives.
