Brett Anderson, M.D.Moon Township, PA, (November 30, 2012) - Brett Anderson, M.D. has been named chair of the anesthesiology department at the Beaver campus of Heritage Valley Health System. The announcement was made by Sheridan Healthcare, Inc., the anesthesia service provider at both Heritage Valley Beaver and Heritage Valley Sewickley.

A resident of Wexford, Dr. Anderson completed his anesthesiology residency and undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his medical degree from MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia and his preliminary year of internal medicine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

As a Major in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Anderson served as anesthesia chief while deployed in Iraq, and as the sole anesthesia provider while deployed in Qatar. In recognition of his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal and Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon. He previously was a staff anesthesiologist with St. Clair Hospital and Washington Hospital.

In his new position at Heritage Valley Beaver, Dr. Anderson is responsible for administrative functions as well ensuring high quality, patient focused outcomes for the various departments served by anesthesia.
