oon Township, PA, (January 24, 2012) –In its January 2012 issue,
Pittsburgh Magazine has named Heritage Valley endocrinologist, Alejandro R. Gonzalez, M.D., as one of its “Best Doctors for Women for 2012.”
The Best Doctors Survey asks physicians: “If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty, to whom would you refer them?” The responses form the basis for the Best Doctors global database. This process takes place biennially by physicians included in the Best Doctors database. Specialists complete ballots on other doctors in their own and in related specialties. During this 9-12 month period, doctors may also nominate and provide information on other physicians who they think should be considered in the peer-review process.
Dr. Gonzalez received his B.S. and Doctorate of Medicine degrees from the University of Santiago in Spain. He did his residency at West Penn Hospital. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Nephrology. Prior to joining Heritage Valley, Dr. Gonzalez has functioned as the Chief of the Nephrology and Endocrinology divisions and was the Medical Director of the Joslin Diabetes Clinic at West Penn Hospital. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and Temple University.
Heritage Valley Endocrinology opened in late 2010 and is located at 1 Peartree Way in Beaver, Pa. Its two physicians, Dr. Gonzalez and Noah D. Lubowsky, M.D., are trained to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems and care of many conditions including diabetes and thyroid diseases.
Drs. Gonzalez and Lubowsky are accepting new patients for endocrinology services, but patients may only be seen with a referral from their primary care physician. Their office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They can be reached at 724-728-9404.
