TeleTypewriter (TTY) telephones are available for use by people who are hearing or speech impaired. The phones allow one to “talk” with others by typing messages back and forth over telephone lines.
The TTY system is available in patient registration and in the emergency department (both on the third floor). A TTY unit at the switchboard receives incoming calls at 412.741.3210.
A portable TTY device is also available for use anywhere, including patient rooms. Ask your nurse to call ext. 7090 or have the operator page engineering.
The Heritage Valley Health Center – Moon also has a TTY telephone at its registration desk and receives incoming calls at 412.262.3323.
