TeleTypewriter (TTY) telephones are available for use by people who are hearing or speech impaired. The phones allow one to “talk” with others by typing messages back and forth over telephone lines.
At Heritage Valley Beaver, TTY phones are located in pay phones on the first floor in:
- The outpatient surgery waiting room,
- Emergency department,
- Family waiting room and
- Critical care waiting area.
The TTY unit in emergency department receives incoming calls at 724.728.0154.
A portable TTY device is also available for use anywhere, including patient rooms. Ask your nurse to call “0” to get the device.
