  1. Candidates for admission to the School of Nursing should complete an application. Apply online at: www.heritagevalley.org. Comprehensive instructions for completing the application process are outlined there. Just click on “Schools and Residencies”, then on “School of Nursing”, and finally on "Application Process”.

Or, candidates may complete an application form supplied by the School of Nursing in the CD catalog or request a paper form by calling 412.269.7520.

Students are generally admitted to the 22-month accelerated or 33-month progressive programs in August, but students may be admitted in January and April to take La Roche College courses if space is available.

After acceptance by Heritage Valley Sewickley School of Nursing, an application for La Roche College will be sent to the enrollee. The completed application must be submitted, with their non-refundable application fee, to La Roche College.

  1. Along with completing and submitting the application via e-mail or filling out the paper copy of the application, these are other steps in the application process:
    1. Print three copies of the Reference Form. Complete and sign Part I on all three copies, then select three people to ask to complete them. References should be from a teacher, employer, supervisor, clergy, nurse or person with whom the applicant has had a professional relationship. References should know the applicant for at least one year and be able to evaluate the applicant’s ability to complete the program. References from friends or relatives are NOT accepted. LPNs or former students of a nursing program must have one reference from a clinical instructor. Those completing reference forms should do so within two weeks of receiving them. Completed forms should be mailed directly to the School of Nursing.
    2. Request that official copies of your high school and college/university transcripts be sent directly to the School of Nursing.
    3. Return the "Permission to Release Transcripts to LaRoche College" form to the School of Nursing with your application.
    4. If you completed an online application, you must also print and complete the Application Confirmation Form. If you fill out a paper application, there is no need to complete this form.
  2. Mail your application (if you completed a paper copy) or your application confirmation form (if you applied on-line), and a nonrefundable check or money order for $50, payable to "Heritage Valley Sewickley" to the following address:

  1. Your admission folder is complete when the school has received your:
  • Application with minimum 150 word essay
  • Application fee
  • Transcripts and/or GED documentation
  • Three letters of reference
  • Preadmission test results

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all of these materials are submitted before the March 31st deadline. Applications are processed when all required paperwork has been received. If materials are received after March 31, the applicant may be placed on a waiting list.  It is highly recommended to initiate applications during October - November and no later than February to allow schools and references processing time.

  1. Applicants considered for admission will be scheduled for an interview with a member of the Admissions Committee. Each candidate is given individual consideration in the selection process.
  2. A registration fee is required when the candidate is accepted. Fees are not refundable.
