This course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skills required when caring for patients with complex medical-surgical problems. Principles of critical care and the technology involved with this care are introduced. Human to human relationships are stressed in helping the student understand the psychodynamics involved in the care of the patient and his family when faced with a life-threatening physiologic crisis.
