Pre/Co-requisite: Anatomy & Physiology II, Microbiology
This course builds on the concepts and basic skills presented in Nursing Concepts I. Throughout the course, students are assisted in application of the nursing process as a means of providing nursing care for the person with more complex problems such as pain, infection, fluid and electrolyte imbalance, and the dying process. General principles of care relating to the surgical patient during the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative periods are discussed. Pharmacology is introduced, and students are assisted in the application of principles of medication administration.
