Prerequisites
Graduation from an accredited high school, with a minimum of 16 units, including:
- English—4 units
- Sciences—2 units with related labs
- One must be chemistry with a lab.
- The other science course is preferably biology with a lab or anatomy and physiology with a lab.
A “C” or better must be achieved in both of these science courses. A grade of C- will not be accepted.
- one must be Algebra
A “C” or better must be achieved in this course. A grade of C- will not be accepted.
Applicants who are high school graduates must have a minimum QPA of 2.5. If this QPA is not achieved in high school, a minimum of 12 transferable college credits with a QPA of 2.5 or higher must be completed for the applicant to be considered.
Applicants with a General Equivalency Diploma GED must achieve a standard score average of 50 or higher and must have completed:

For prospective students who are lacking any of these prerequisites, there is an online program available which offers high school equivalent credits for chemistry, biology and algebra. These are high school credits and will not appear on a college transcript.

Prospective students should possess basic computer skills. They should be able to:
- send and receive e-mail
- attach, send and open documents from e-mail or internet sites
- research topics using web resources
- use Microsoft office applications such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint
If these skills are weak, it is strongly recommended that prospective students enroll in a basic computer course prior to admission.
It is also recommended that students have access to a personal computer with internet connection at home.
Preadmission Tests
The applicant is required to take one of the following:
- The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), achieving a minimum combined score of 920
OR
- The American College Test (ACT), achieving a minimum composite score of 18.
If the applicant graduated from high school more than five (5) years prior to application, this requirement is waived.
- Applicants are required to take a pre-nursing entrance test and achieve the 50th percentile or higher in arithmetic, reading, natural science and vocational adjustment.
