Intravascular Cardiac Ultrasound is a type of echocardiogram done during a cardiac catheterization. During this Heritage Valley physicians use a catheter to send high frequency sound waves (ultrasound) into the heart. These waves then produce a moving picture on a nearby screen, allowing an internal view of the patient's coronary artery.
