Minimally Invasive Coronary Bypass (MICB) eliminates the need for a heart-lung machine because the procedure is done while your heart is still beating. It is performed only when one or two arteries will be bypassed. The cardiac surgeons at Heritage Valley Health System perform this procedure through a series of small holes in your chest and a small incision made directly over the coronary artery. The surgeon then detaches an artery from inside the chest wall and re-attaches it to the clogged coronary artery.
