A catheter placed within the right side of the heart and connected to an external pacemaker generator to pace the heart with an adequate heart rate until no longer needed, or until a permanent pacemaker is implanted. Person is on bed rest while this is in place. Procedure length of time is approximately 10 minutes. Usually the patient may eat and drink after the procedure, when awake.
