Physical Therapy
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At Heritage Valley Health System we employ a team of over 30 physical therapists and 12 physical therapist assistants licensed in the State of Pennsylvania to meet the needs of the communities we serve. Physical therapists are highly trained clinicians who have between 4-6 years of college preparation. Physical therapist assistants work under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist, have 2 years of college education and are also licensed by State of Pennsylvania upon completion of a comprehensive written examination. In addition to meeting the educational licensing requirements established by the Commonwealth of PA our therapists are required by Heritage Valley Health System to keep abreast of the advances in the field of medicine. Our therapist must pass annual competency assessments and attend educational in-services on at least a quarterly basis in order to insure that we provide the most up to date, comprehensive service to meet our patient's individual needs.
