How do I use the seat?
- NEVER place an infant in the front seat directly behind an air bag. A child should also not sit in the front seat with an air bag. The safest place for a child is in the back seat.
- Place the infant in the car seat and make sure the infant’s back is against the back of the car seat. Place rolled up diapers or blankets along your infant to make the seat fit better. See Figure 3.

- Place chest clip/harness evenly across the baby’s nipple line and make sure the seat belt is secure. See Figure 5.

Figure 5
- If the lap portion of a combination lap/shoulder belt does not lock the seat firmly in place, you must use a locking clip to secure them together. See Figure 6.
Figure 6
- If the seat belts are mounted on the door or if the car has automatic seat belts, do not place the infant in the front seat.
- Any infant who is less than one year old should be placed in the back seat of the car, rear sitting position and the seat reclined at a 45° angle. See Figure 7.
- An infant who is one year old and weighs more than 20 pounds should be placed in the back seat of the car, front sitting position and the seat in an upright position. See Figure 8.
