WAITING…
I hate to wait. I am sure you do also. If I keep you waiting a long time, I apologize. Unfortunately in Pulmonary Medicine, it is not always possible to predict how much time each patient will require for a thorough evaluation of their particular problem. Pulmonary Medicine is somewhat different from other medical subspecialties in that the evaluation process may require special diagnostic procedures such as a Bronchoscopy. To prevent discomfort, sedation is usually required. We try to estimate how much time each patient will need for testing and recovery.

However, each patient is an individual with special problems and therefore each procedure is different. An individual may also have other medical problems that interact or complicate their lung disease. It is not always possible to accurately predict how much time will be required for each visit. For this reason my planned schedule is sometimes delayed. This is often compounded by the fact that I may be unexpectedly called away to the emergency room or to see a seriously ill hospitalized patient.

If this happens during your appointment, again I apologize. I will not forget you are here. Rest assure that when we begin your appointment, I will do all I can do to provide you with the best care possible.
