Dinesh Bhaskaran, MD received his medical degree from the University of Zambia Medical School in Lusaka, Zambia. He completed an internship and residency in general surgery as well as a research fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Bhaskaran went on to complete his residency in cardiothoracic surgery at State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. In addition, he has completed an advanced adult cardiac surgery fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston.
He joined Heritage Valley Health System in 2018 and specializes in adult heart surgery including coronary revascularization, heart valve replacement and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement. He performs all aspects of lung surgery. Prior to joining Heritage Valley, he was involved in the initiation of the Robotic Thoracic program at Banner Health in Northern Colorado.
Dr. Bhaskaran is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is also a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
