Sophia T. Kunkle, MD, MBS earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, PA and her Master of Biomedical Science from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Scranton, PA. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio.
Dr. Kunkle completed her Family Medicine Residency at UPMC St. Margaret, and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine/Obstetric Fellowship at UPMC St. Margaret/UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital.
Prior to joining Heritage Valley Generations OB/GYN, Dr. Kunkle worked at The Primary Health Network as a Family Medicine Physician and Obstetrician, providing full spectrum Family Medicine and specializing in women’s health. She currently serves as a faculty member of the OB/GYN Department at the Heritage Valley Family Medicine Residency Program, and is the primary person responsible for the Obstetric and Gynecologic curriculum and education of the Heritage Valley Family Medicine residents.
In addition to seeing patients at Generations OB/GYN, Dr. Kunkle sees Family Medicine patients at the Heritage Valley Family Medicine Center.
