Alvise Bernabei, MD, FACS

Alvise Bernabei, MD, FACS is part of the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery program of the Heritage Valley Heart & Vascular Center. Dr. Bernabei is board-certified and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Cardiothoracic Surgery Program. He specializes in valve repair/replacement, coronary revascularization, atrial fibrillation ablation, lung surgery, and minimally invasive transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Dr. Bernabei obtained his medical degree and general surgery training from Wayne State University School of Medicine and the WSU affiliated Detroit Medical Center. He completed Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency, Thoracic Transplant/Aortic Surgery Fellowship, and Research at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bernabei began his surgical career in 1998 as the Assistant Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Cook County Hospital and Director of Lung Transplantation at the Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
