Dr. Richard Schollaert was born and raised in the Brookline area of Pittsburgh where he and his five brothers went to parochial schools prior to Carrick High School. After high school, he enrolled in Penn State University where he earned a bachelor’s in science degree in Science. Dr. Schollaert earned a medical degree from the Temple University Medical School and completed his internship, residency and chief residency at University of Pittsburgh Montefiore. After residency, Dr. Schollaert taught for one year at Temple Medical School and then returned to the Pittsburgh area where he launched an Internal Medicine practice in Ambridge along with Dr. Richard Cassoff.
Dr. Schollaert is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics with interest in geriatrics and personalized medical care. He is a past-President of the Sewickley Valley Hospital Medical Staff, the Sewickley Valley Hospital Board of Trustees and a member of the American College of Physicians and the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
Dr. Schollaert is married with four grown children and 3 delightful grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys golf, travel, family, friends and all Pittsburgh sports teams. He has a strong interest in history, government and, of course, medicine.
