Heritage Valley Health System Foundation serves as the fundraising organization for Heritage Valley Beaver and Heritage Valley Sewickley, and programs and services of Heritage Valley Health System. The Foundation supports the mission of Heritage Valley Health System – to improve the health and well-being of all people in the communities we serve.
The Foundation was created with community support and thrives today thanks to the generosity of our local communities, associates, patients and friends.

Tito Francona Memorial Golf Classic
We are proud to share that our recent Foundation golf event, which brought together community members, sponsors, and supporters for a day of friendly competition and camaraderie, raised $99,087 to benefit AHN Beaver Hospital’s heart and cancer patients.
Former Cleveland Indians’ and St. Louis Cardinals’ star John “Tito” Francona first held the Tito Francona Golf Outing in 1989 in honor of his wife, Birdie, who was treated for cancer at the Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital. Years later, the tournament expanded to also support Cardiology patients. Tito was one of those patients and his legacy lives on in the John “Tito” Francona Heart & Vascular Center at AHN Beaver Hospital. Their son, Terry Francona, General Manager of the Cincinnati Reds, continues to sponsor and support this memorial golf event.
The John “Tito” Francona Heart & Vascular Center in Beaver features leading cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons, cardiologists and electrophysiologists, as well as nurses and technicians who are highly trained to perform cardiac and vascular testing and procedures. Thank you to all sponsors, vendors, auction donors and participants who made the Heritage Valley Health System Foundation’s 2026 Cheers! to Good Health event a success! Approximately 300 people enjoyed delicious cuisine from a dozen different restaurants/caterers at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott. Participants enjoyed wine, spirits, beer, lattes, and other non-alcoholic options from a variety of beverage vendors as well. Local artist George Williams entertained and amazed the crowd by painting three beautiful pieces that were auctioned off with approximately 30 other items. In all, the event raised nearly $125,000 for security enhancements in the Emergency Departments at Heritage Valley Beaver and Heritage Valley Sewickley hospitals.
Turkey Trot 2026
The Thanksgiving Day tradition continues! Open to everyone, the Turkey Trot course takes runners and walkers alike on a 5K path through the charming town of Sewickley. The Turkey Trot is a joint project of the Heritage Valley Health System Foundation and the Sewickley Valley YMCA.
The race begins at 8:30 am on Thursday, November 26, 2026 (rain, snow or shine!) at War Memorial Park, 811 Blackburn Road in Sewickley. Awards will be presented at 9:20 am at the finish line. Free parking is available in the AHN Sewickley Hospital parking garage, using the Blackburn Road entrance across from the YMCA.
Online registration coming soon. If you are registering on the day of the race, please arrive by 7:00 am. All pre-registered runners and walkers may pick up their race packets on Wednesday, November 25, from 10 am – 6 pm at the Sewickley Valley YMCA Community Activity Center, located in the upper parking lot on the YMCA’s campus on Blackburn Road. Packets may also be picked up on race day between 7 – 8 am, although we strongly recommend that you pick up your packets on Wednesday. For more race information click here.
The cost for adults (18 years and older) is $35; $20 for participants ages 17 and younger; and no cost for children in strollers.
Proceeds benefit the Faith in Action program at the Sewickley Valley YMCA.
