Heritage Valley Health System and the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) will host the “What’s On Your Plate?” Healthy Foods and Wellness Expo at CCBC’s Monaca campus Saturday, March 11, 2017. This free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the CCBC Dome.
The Free Health and Wellness Expo is open to the general population and is a community outreach and education event. The healthy foods and wellness expo will include live cooking demonstrations, free health screenings, live fitness demonstrations, free food and product samples and also the chance to win door prizes.
Those attending the health and wellness expo can visit one of the more than 85 featured exhibitors including: Heritage Valley Health System, CCBC, Brunton Dairy, Edible Arrangements, Beaver County Farmers Market Association, McCormack Apiaries, Chop Shop Salad Shop, Chris Fennimore/QED Cooks, Miriam Rubin, Post-Gazette Food & Garden Columnist and “Tomatoes” Cookbook Author, B-Well Nation Fitness Center, Beaver County YMCA, Fellowship Foods, Apothecary Muse, Apoidea Apiary, Farm to Table Pittsburgh, Health Hut, Hello Hummus, Chef Justin Miller, McConnells’ Farm & Market and others.
“This is a great opportunity to make the community aware of the vast array of health care services that Heritage Valley offers and the importance of healthy eating and exercise on one’s health,” said Arlene Bell, director of community health services at Heritage Valley Health System. “We will have free health screenings, an ‘Ask the Doctor’ booth and plenty of information at our booths.”
