COVID-19 PEDIATRIC VACCINE UPDATE FOR CHILDREN AGES 5 – 11
As you have likely heard by now, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended that children ages 5 to 11 years be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine. According to the CDC, COVID-19 cases in children can result in hospitalizations or long-term complications, in which symptoms can linger for months. Vaccination was nearly 91% effective in preventing COVID-19 among children ages 5 – 11 year during vaccine trials.
