care for women in our area by launching the Heritage Valley BreastCare
program. Heritage Valley BreastCare is a comprehensive breast care program
that offers a full range of services, from screening and diagnostic breast imaging
to a variety of treatments for breast cancer, with all services available locally.

and diagnostic imaging services that will now be complemented with a full range
of treatment options located within the Heritage Valley network of care.”
Valley Women’s Health Center, a facility dedicated to the special health care
needs of women located in Center Township, will be the primary location for the
Heritage Valley BreastCare program. The program features a multidisciplinary
team of experts that includes radiologists, surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists,
pathologists, psychologists, specialized mammography technologists, ultrasonographers,
a breast care nurse navigator and a patient advocate.
Valley BreastCare program has two tiers. The first involves screening mammography,
the proven most effective tool for early detection of breast cancer. Screening mammography
at Heritage Valley is convenient and accessible with eight community screening locations.

mammograms, 3D full volume breast ultrasound, 2D breast ultrasound, and Breast MRI.

The second tier of the
program is a diagnostic pathway to evaluate patients with breast cancer. Heritage
Valley BreastCare has a Breast Care Nurse Navigator to support patients
and coordinate follow up care including; surgical consultation, medical and radiation
oncology consultation and treatment, surgical consultation and treatment, referrals
to support programs and other services determined to be appropriate for the patient’s
