Heritage Valley Health System recently revealed a newly renovated Surgical Waiting Area March 24, 2016, naming it after longtime supporter, wine event chairperson and Heritage Valley Beaver Foundation board member, Alex E. Sebastian.
A ribbon-cutting was held at the new surgical waiting room located on the first floor of Heritage Valley Beaver. Members of the Heritage Valley Health System board of directors and the Heritage Valley Beaver Auxiliary were in attendance along with Linda and Alex Sebastian, their family and friends. The renovation project modernized the space that patients’ families and friends use while they undergo surgical procedures. The event commemorated Alex Sebastian’s many years of dedication to Heritage Valley Health System.
Alex Sebastian, proprietor of The Wooden Angel restaurant in Beaver, first joined the Heritage Valley Beaver Foundation as a board member in 1989. He has since served several terms on the Foundation board of directors, including chair of the board, working to raise funds for a variety of initiatives. Most significantly, Sebastian has served as the chairperson of the Heritage Valley Health System’s biennial wine and culinary fundraising event since 1990, raising more than $1 million for the organization. He and his wife, Linda, continue to be an integral part of this fundraising effort by hosting this year’s Heritage Valley Wine and Culinary event Saturday, April 16, 2016.
