Heritage Valley Health System announced that Ohio Valley Hospital has officially been renamed Heritage Valley Kennedy. The name change was the next step in the affiliation process between the two organizations. The Kennedy Township hospital became a subsidiary of Heritage Valley Health System on January 1, 2019 and the third hospital under the Heritage Valley’s umbrella.
“The name change was the natural next step in combining services and locations under the Heritage Valley Health System,” said Norm Mitry, President and CEO of Heritage Valley Health System. “Our goal is to provide a seamless array of healthcare services across our new expanded community.”
Since the affiliation, Heritage Valley has been working with physicians and staff at the newly named Heritage Valley Kennedy to identify synergies and opportunities for expansion of services to Kennedy Township, McKees Rocks and the surrounding areas. Investments in infrastructure and technology have been earmarked for the Heritage Valley Kennedy campus. Changes will continue to take place throughout the upcoming months to bring all facilities and efforts under the Heritage Valley Health System brand.
