Knee and Hip Orthopedic Class

Having your knee or hip replaced can be a confusing process. That’s why we help make it easier to understand.

PrintOhio Valley Hospital’s Orthopedic Class is held for our patients about to have joint replacement surgery. You are encouraged to bring a family member or friend who can help you along with the process.

Classes are held twice a month, on the 1st Tuesday and 3rd Thursday, at Ohio Valley Hospital. You may pick the one that works best for your schedule! Additional times may be available as needed.

There is no cost to attending our class, which is one of the many benefits of having your surgery done in Ohio Valley Hospital’s new state of the art Orthopedic Unit!

Every patient will leave our class with a comprehensive guide on the entire Orthopedic surgery process; from preparing for surgery, to a timeline of the day of your surgery, and recovery tips and tricks.

About Our Class

Ohio Valley Hospital’s pre-operative education classes offer patients a guide on what to expect before, during and after your joint replacement surgery. We offer helpful tips on preparing your home for your recovery period, controlling risk factors, preventing complications, and above all else, providing you with information about your pathway to recovery.

These classes give you an opportunity to network with other patients and ease your anxiety level about your upcoming surgery. They also allow you to meet our Orthopedic Team and take a tour of our entire Orthopedic facility within Ohio Valley Hospital.

To attend our pre-education class, please contact our unit by calling 412-777-6772.
