Types of Treatment

At the Heritage Valley Kennedy Pain Treatment Center, our treatment modalities are customized to each patient’s needs. Some of the treatments and procedures we work with are listed below.

Image-Guided Injections

For pain relief, injections can be more effective than oral medication because they deliver medication directly to the anatomic location that is generating the pain. The physicians at the Heritage Valley Kennedy Pain Center are Board-Certified in Interventional Pain Medicine and perform cutting edge procedures that help provide long-term relief of your pain.

Minimally-Invasive Interventions

The physicians at our Heritage Valley Kennedy Pain Center are Board Certified in Interventional Pain Medicine.  They perform cutting edge procedures that are minimally-invasive that have the potential to avoid unnecessary invasive surgery.

These procedures include:

  • Spinal Cord Stimulation
  • Peripheral nerve stimulation (including Wireless STIMWAVE Freedom Technology)
  • Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression
  • RadioFrequency Nerve Ablation (including Coolief treatment for knee and spine pain)
  • Intrathecal Drug Delivery Systems
  • Percutaneous Kyphoplasty to help heal vertebral compression fractures
  • Regenerative Medicine Techniques including Stem-Cell Injections and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections

Pain Medicine Management

Medications can help treat pain and allow patients to regain some of their physical function. At Heritage Valley Kennedy Pain Center our board-certified physicians are highly versed in the newest medications available on the market with hope to avoid the need for high dose addictive opioid medications.

Physical Therapy, Exercise and Alternative Treatment Pain Programs

A key part of a multi-disciplinary approach to pain management involves physical therapy to aid in strengthening and reconditioning of the injury. Physical therapists are experts at treating movement and neuro-musculoskeletal disorders. Pain often accompanies a movement disorder, and physical therapists can help correct the disorder and relieve the pain.

Our physicians may also recommend further alternative treatment strategies including Aqua Therapy, Chiropractic care, Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy with the goal of relieving your suffering from pain with a natural, drug-free approach.
