Virtual Turkey Trot

Turkey Trot

WE HAVE GONE VIRTUAL!

The Sewickley Turkey Trot, normally held on Thanksgiving morning each year, has gone virtual for 2020. We hope that you will still join us, get out with your families this year and begin your holiday with a great run for a great cause. Proceeds benefit the Faith in Action program, a program designed to meet the transportation needs of the elderly in our community by providing rides to medical treatments and doctor appointments. Join us in supporting those in need!

The Heritage Valley Health System and Sewickley Valley YMCA are happy to offer this fun annual event for only $20.00 this year. You may run your virtual race anytime between when you register through Monday, November 30, 2020.

HOW TO RUN A VIRTUAL RACE

  1. REGISTER

Sign up for the race here on the Run Sign Up Registration page.
  2. SWAG

You will have the option to pick up your race hat in person or have it mailed directly to your home for a small fee.
  3. RUN YOUR RACE

The next step is to run the race you signed up for between the dates that are specified in the instructions or on the web site.  Since this is a "Virtual" event, you can run wherever and whenever you want.  Unless there are explicit instructions stating otherwise, you can run the distance all at once, or break it into multiple runs on different days.  Remember, Virtual = Flexible.
  4. POST RESULTS

After completing your "Race", please post your results to this web site, using the Results link at the top of the page.  You can post your race results at any time before November 30th. (There are no awards for our virtual races, as everything is on the honor system when posting race results.)

RACE ROUTE

For those who would like to keep the tradition alive and run the regular race route on Thanksgiving, the normal race route is below.  Please be aware that the racecourse is open to vehicular traffic so all runners should use sidewalks and follow all posted traffic and walking signals when crossing streets at intersections.
