With over 400 accredited family medicine residency programs in the United States, how can you select one that will best meet your needs? The Family Medicine Residency Program at Heritage Valley Beaver in Beaver, Pennsylvania provides a number of features to help you attain your career goals while also providing a pleasant living environment and access to cultural, educational and entertainment activities.
Accredited in 1979, the Heritage Valley Family Medicine Residency Program at Heritage Valley Beaver has graduated more than 200 residents. Currently, the Program is approved to train six residents each year and is formally affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Heritage Valley Beaver is a progressive 285-bed facility with state-of-the-art technology, including cardiothoracic and neurosurgery. The program is unopposed and emphasizes procedural skills as well as extensive inpatient medicine and pediatric training. The residents experience the full spectrum of family medicine, including taking care of newborns and managing complicated patients in the intensive care unit. The program embraces the Clinic First philosophy utilizing a unique 2+2 curriculum structure that enhances continuity of care for residents and prioritizes training in the Family Medicine Center.
The hospital is located in a top-ranked community just 35 miles north of Pittsburgh and minutes away from the Pittsburgh International Airport. Heritage Valley Beaver offers excellent pay and benefits including generous health, life and disability insurance.
Now is an exciting time to join the Heritage Valley Family Medicine Residency Program. Our residents currently practice in a newly built 13,000+ square foot, state-of-the-art Family Medicine Center that utilizes Allscripts, a complete electronic health record. Our faculty is committed and enthused about training the next generation of family physicians.
