With over 400 accredited family medicine residency programs in the United States, how can you select one that will best meet your needs? The Family Medicine Residency Program at Heritage Valley Health System in Beaver, Pennsylvania provides a number of unique features to help you attain your career goals while also providing a charming living environment and access to cultural, educational and entertainment activities.
Accredited in 1979, the Heritage Valley Family Medicine Residency Program has graduated more than 250 residents. Currently, the Program is approved to train six residents each year and is affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, LECOM, PCOM and the Duquesne School of Medicine. Our residents get to work at Heritage Valley Medical Center, which is a progressive 285-bed facility with state-of-the-art technology and specialists, including cardiothoracic, bariatric, wound care and neurosurgery on site. The program is unopposed and emphasizes strong hands on skills as well as comprehensive in-patient medicine and pediatric training. The residents experience the full spectrum of family medicine, from taking care of newborns to managing complex patients in the intensive care unit. The program additionally embraces the Clinic First philosophy utilizing a unique 2+2 curriculum structure that enhances continuity of care for residents and prioritizes training in the Family Medicine Center.
