Ambulance Services

NorthWest EMS is one of Allegheny County’s largest Emergency Medical Service providers, offering emergency medical care and ambulance transport. A subsidiary of Heritage Valley Health System, Northwest EMS services 14 neighboring communities. These include:

Avalon, Bellevue, Ben Avon, Ben Avon Heights, Crafton, Emsworth, Findlay Township, Ingram, Kennedy Township, Kilbuck Township, McKees Rocks, North Fayette Township, Oakdale, Stowe Township, and the Pittsburgh International Airport.

Services

NorthWest EMS is made up of more than 100 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMTs), Paramedics, Prehospital RNs (PHRNs), and support staff. We have 13 licensed Advanced Life Support ambulances, 4 Advanced Life Support response vehicles, and a Utility Support Vehicle. Northwest EMS also provides the drivers for the Heritage Valley Kennedy’s courtesy van service.

In addition to the transport of sick or injured patients and providing treatment to those in need, NorthWest EMS is also responsible for providing medical coverage for special events throughout the 14 communities we serve.

Ambulances are based out of 5 stations located in Ben Avon, Crafton/Ingram Borough, North Fayette Township, Findlay Township and our headquarters in Stowe Twp (McKees Rocks.)
