Thank you for considering our RN diploma program for our August 2024 Fall start.  We appreciate your interest and wanted to advise you of acceptance, under the following two conditions:

Full Tuition Scholarships

The School of Nursing offers this institutional scholarship in addition to federal and state programs. Scholarships may be granted to a limited number of eligible applicants who meet the following conditions:

The applicant must:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Achieve an Adjusted Individual Score of 85% or higher on the ATI TEAS exam exceeds the present scholarship criteria. (Other criteria will be taken into consideration for those close to meeting criteria.)
  • Interview with a Human Resources representative.
  • Complete 50 volunteer hours while in the program.
  • Commit to working at Heritage Valley Health System as an RN on a nursing unit for a minimum of 3 years after graduation.

Full-tuition scholarships are available. Students with a desire to attend the Heritage Valley Health System School of Nursing under this scholarship program should inform the school immediately.

Self-Payers

Applicants who are not interested in the Full-Tuition scholarship or may not meet scholarship criteria may also be accepted. Criteria for eligibility are as follows:

The applicant must:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
  • Achieve an Adjusted Individual Score of 65% or higher on the ATI TEAS exam to be considered.
  • Complete 20 volunteer hours while enrolled in our program.

Self-paying students have no work commitment to Heritage Valley Health System. 

All applicants must have successfully completed the required prerequisite coursework of Algebra, Chemistry with Lab and Biology with Lab with a grade of C or better.

Pre-Entrance exam scores are a main indicator of acceptance, however, they are NOT the only criteria used to evaluate an applicant’s potential. Applicants must meet ALL criteria as outlined in the informational packet for determining eligibility and acceptance.

Pre-Requisites

The completion of the following high school or introductory college-level courses with a letter grade of “C” or better is required:

  • Algebra
  • Biology with Laboratory
  • Chemistry with Laboratory

Pre-Entrance Exams

Students must also obtain a passing score on our pre-entrance exam.

The exam is the Test of Essential Academic Skills, (TEAS), Booklet 1, which is a scholastic aptitude test made up of 170 questions which must be completed within 3 hours’ time. The academic skills tested in the TEAS are Reading, Mathematics, Science and English/Language usage. The results are scored using an Adjusted Individual Score.

TEAS pre-entrance exam dates:

January – 9, 25
February – 9, 28
March – 11, 20, 28
April – 2, 11, 15, 25
Additional dates may be added.

All testing starts at 9am. Please contact Sharon at sgyory@hvhs.org to schedule a testing date. Prospective students must apply prior to scheduling for testing.

ATI offers a TEAS study guide on their website for purchase (https://www.atitesting.com/teas/study-manual). This guide is written to address the needs of students preparing for this assessment. All test takers must create an ATI profile prior to taking the exam. Please log onto www.atitesting.com, click on Create New Account and follow the screen instructions.

We Offer Free Tuition Scholarships Annually for Qualifying Students!

A full-scholarship is worth up to approximately $29,000.00.
