Sharon Dawso, MD grew up in the Philadelphia area, but has always had family in Pittsburgh and has been raised as a Black and Gold fan. She attended Drew University in Madison, NJ, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She attended Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John’s, NL, Canada for medical school and earned her M.D. in 1999. She completed a three year Family Medicine Residency at Heritage Valley, Beaver. She spent the first five years of her career teaching medical students and resident physicians in Youngstown, Ohio and taught obstetrics. She then transitioned to private practice, spending a year in New Wilmington, PA. She has been practicing in Ellwood City since May 2008 with Heritage Valley. She now lives in North Sewickley Township. She has two nieces who attend Riverside Schools. Dr. Dawso and her family are members of Christ Presbyterian Church, where she participates in the Boar’s Head Festival and the Hand Bell Choir. She enjoys gardening, crafts, and time with her family.
