Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Group

The pregnancy and infant loss support group offers a warm, accepting atmosphere for parents dealing with the loss of an infant. A variety of subjects are covered in this support group, including:

  • What to expect
  • Practical coping techniques
  • How to respond to other family members (including children, spouses, and older parents). 

The group meets the second Monday of each month between 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm.

The Breastfeeding Moms To Be class will be held virtually, via Zoom.  Meetings are led by Edith Davidson RN IBCLC, who has been a lactation consultant with Heritage Valley Sewickley since 1997. To join a meeting, send an e-mail to edavidson@hvhs.org.  

A lactation (breastfeeding) consultant provides expectant mothers with guidelines for a successful breastfeeding experience. Topics include advantages of breastfeeding, body changes that occur during pregnancy and breastfeeding, recognizing if the baby is getting enough milk, what to do if problems arise, and more.

If you are expecting a baby, Heritage Valley Health System’s maternity classes can help you to prepare for a healthy pregnancy and delivery, a healthy baby and upcoming life changes.
