Heritage Valley Health System was recently recognized two times for its commitment to health in the workplace. As the largest employer in the airport corridor, this recognition complements Heritage Valley’s mission “to improve the health and well-being of all people in the communities it serves.”
Heritage Valley Health System was among the 47 area organizations recognized as one of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s “Healthiest Employers.” On June 5, 2014, the Pittsburgh Business Times hosted its 3rd Annual Healthiest Employers awards luncheon at the Omni William Penn hotel. The event honored those companies that “proactively shape the health of their employees and have a positive impact on health in their workplace.” Those included on the Healthiest Employers list were measured using core areas of wellness and a proprietary scoring system and were featured in a special edition of the Pittsburgh Business Times on Friday, June 6.
Heritage Valley Health System also received renewed recognition by the American Heart Association as a “Gold Level Fit Friendly Worksite.” Each year, the American Heart Association recognizes Fit-Friendly employers for creating a culture of health in the workplace through progressive leadership and employee wellness initiatives. Recognition is provided in the Honor Roll on the American Heart Association’s website.
