Heritage Valley Heart & Vascular Center has opened an Acute Cardiac
Care Center at its Beaver location, 605 Sharon Road, Beaver. The Acute Cardiac Care
Center enables patients to have immediate access to a cardiologist for symptoms
such as shortness of breath, high or low blood pressure, slow or fast heart rate,
or palpitations. The Center is open to patients established with a Heritage Valley
physician.
“It is important in today’s health care environment
to offer our patients access to specialty care and hopefully reduce emergency room
visits and admissions,” said Richard Begg, MD, FACC, cardiologist at Heritage
Valley Heart & Vascular Center. “Our goal for the Center is to provide
quality acute cardiac services in an efficient and caring outpatient environment.”
The
Acute Cardiac Care Center is open 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments
can be scheduled by calling 724-773-4502. Walk-in patients are also welcome at the
Center during hours of operation.
“The increased accessibility
to cardiac services through the new Acute Cardiac Care Center is part of Heritage
Valley’s overarching strategy in the community,” added Dr. Dan Brooks,
Heritage Valley Health System Vice President for Community Health. “The Health
System’s increased focus on quality, cost and access have led to Heritage
Valley’s Medical Neighborhoods, ConvenientCare walk-in clinics, and
expanded physician practice office hours. The Acute Cardiac Care Center is another
piece in the puzzle.”
